The Shyogwe Diocese is located in South Central Rwanda. The diocese originated with the building of a school in 1946 and is currently under the leadership of the bishop, Rt. Rev. Jéred Kalimba with parishes in four districts: Kamonyi, Muhanga, Ruhango and Nyanza. The Shyogwe Diocesan motto is “Your Kingdom Come.” This motto is shared through the integral mission of “a holy soul in a healthy body.” The diocese is mainly rural, and the population is very poor. The diocese is working hard to relieve suffering and bring hope to their community. With the purpose of realizing a self-sustaining community, the Shyogwe Diocese began partnering with HOPE International in 2008. As of August 2014, the Shyogwe SCA program consists of 565 groups with 8640 members: 3295 men and 5345 women.
I began working for HOPE in January 2011. I am married to Theoneste MUNYENGABO and we have four children: one girl and three boys.
My vision for the program is to encourage Christians to grow spiritually and physically by distributing the Holy Scriptures in all parishes. I also have a vision for creating a savings and credit fund in our diocese, which will enable all Christians from different SCA groups to acquire credits and save there so that they can develop themselves in their groups and their families.
